Wimberley: One of America’s best small towns

The town of Wimberley was recently dubbed one of “America’s Ten Best Small Towns” by Travel Holiday magazine. Perhaps this was because Wimberley is such a great base for exploring the beautiful Texas Hill Country. It might have been the “Old West” feeling that permeates Wimberley, which is complete with a Town Square and an old swimming hole. Whatever Travel Holiday’s reasons may have been, Wimberley surely deserves the title. With a close proximity to Austin, Wimberley offers its residents unique natural beauty provided by the Blanco River and Cypress Creek, as well as climbing, hiking, swimming, golf, tennis, bed and breakfasts, vacation resorts and youth camps.

Wimberley Real Estate

Wimberley real estate is comprised of a diverse mix of housing styles that cover a wide price range. Waterfront, ranch, view and land properties are all available. Naturally, most real estate in Wimberley is located in the town’s many subdivisions.

Woodcreek is one of the town’s largest subdivisions and has many homes for sale. Here you can find homes that offer privacy provided by the subdivision’s lush greenbelts that separate many of the properties, as well as homes with fairway views. Prices in Woodcreek are reasonable, ranging from $85,000 for a small three-bedroom, three-bathroom home, to $299,000 for a spacious four-bedroom, three-bathroom golf course home.

The Eagle Rock Ranchitos subdivision is close to town in a setting dominated by large oak trees. Here you can generally find homes ranging from $85,000 for a small three bedroom, one bathroom to $139,000 for a larger three-bedroom, two-bathroom home.

Burnett Ranch, another Wimberley subdivision, offers its homeowners access to a water park and great views of the Blanco River Cliffside, as well as plenty of new home constructions. Here you can find reasonably priced homes, generally ranging from $135,000 for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home to $270,000 for a view property.

In the Sierra West subdivision you can find many higher-priced homes, as well as a couple of new homes recently put on the market. Restricted communities are also available in this subdivision. Generally, prices range from $359,000 for a new three-bedroom, two-bathroom home to $599,000 for a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in a gated community.
